Java is one of the most popular programming languages in the world, but it wasn’t always that way. Java had its early roots in embedded systems, a quirky avatar with no mouth, and a truly geeky name (“C++ ++ –“). Who would have imagined that Java would become the driving technological force behind the web, mobile devices, consumer electronics, and even putting an unmanned vehicle on Mars.
